Read the documented launcher releases and the client updates that they install.5 min read

Launcher releases and signed client sequences are separate. The launcher updates itself through Update and restart. Client content arrives through Update or Repair.

The current launcher is 0.3.13, with signed launcher sequence 3013. Read its release notes for the latest changes.

The current client release is nui.r20261024, with signed client sequence 18.

Player chat channels

The Channels button beside the chat tabs controls your channel memberships and send destination.

Client content nui.r20261013, sequence 13, adds separate channel choices for each chat tab.

Use the dialog to create, join, leave, and send messages to channels within your faction. Each character can join 5 channels.

Channel names ignore letter case. An empty password makes a public channel. A private channel needs its exact password.

  1. Open Channels beside the chat tabs.
  2. Create or join a channel.
  3. Open Tab Settings > Custom channels shown… for each tab. Select its channels, then select Confirm.
  4. Select a joined channel in the dialog before you send a message.

Memberships and tab choices end when you disconnect. A channel disappears when its last member leaves.

Sequence 13 also fixes the chat-tab deletion callback and adds Origins to the credits page, with Kegan and Mike.

Website accounts

Create your account on the website and confirm the email from [email protected]. Then use your username and password in the launcher.

The launcher no longer creates an account at the first login. Password resets and email changes use the website.

Read Set up the game for the account procedure.

Read Using the launcher for the current controls.

Launcher 0.3.7

The v0.3.7 release uses signed launcher sequence 3007.

  • Linux game starts use Proton’s normal graphics setup. Proton can select DXVK, which fixes the observed WineD3D crash after world entry.
  • Unrelated commands that mention archeage.exe no longer cause false ArcheAge is already running messages.
  • The launcher still blocks updates and another launch while the game runs.
  • The release uses your current ArcheAge Origins profile.
  • Signed client content is sequence 12, release nui.r20261003.

Launcher 0.3.6

The v0.3.6 release uses signed launcher sequence 3006.

  • The launcher repairs the Microsoft shader DLLs after Steam updates Proton.
  • Changed Proton DLL hashes no longer block that repair.
  • Settings > Linux compatibility includes Use default Proton DLLs.
  • Enable the setting to use the selected Steam Proton’s own DLLs. Disable it to restore the Microsoft compatibility DLLs.
  • The change applies on the next game start.
  • The launcher archives the relevant shader caches when it changes DLLs.

Read Proton shader DLLs for the procedure.

Launcher 0.3.5

The v0.3.5 release uses signed launcher sequence 3005. Its signed client content remains sequence 11, release nui.r20260831.

  • The updater retains recovery files after a forced close or power loss.
  • The next start restores 1 complete installation and reports the recovery.
  • The restarted launcher checks its installation, then removes temporary update files.
  • The release keeps the current ArcheAge Origins profile.

Recovery is available after 0.3.5 is installed. An update from an earlier version still uses that earlier version’s updater helper.

Launcher 0.3.4

The v0.3.4 release uses signed launcher sequence 3004.

  • The launcher uses the ArcheAge Origins name, silver crest icon, and window title.
  • Notifications report when an update or repair ends.
  • The Player guide button opens a guide in your browser, including before sign-in.
  • The release starts a new launcher profile.

After an upgrade from a version before 0.3.4, sign in again and select your current client folder. Set your custom launcher preferences again.

On Linux, select a Steam-installed Proton. The launcher prepares a new managed prefix. You can reuse your game files, but the first client check hashes them again.

The profile change leaves the repair archive for future client updates in the old profile. Keep your current game folder and the old launcher profile.

If a later update shows Unsupported client, contact Kegan to restore that archive.

Launcher 0.3.3 and earlier updates

Launcher 0.3.3 used signed client sequence 11, release nui.r20260831.

Since 0.3.0, the launcher checks for signed updates at startup or from Settings. It checks the signed manifest and archive hash before Update and restart.

The first updater-capable baseline needs a manual installation. Read Using the launcher for the update procedure.
